Total Control Tree Service was founded in 2022 by Skip, who grew up immersed in the tree care industry. While initially balancing a full-time job, Skip’s dedication led him to transition to running the business full-time in 2023. His journey from a college groundsman to a Board Certified Master Arborist reflects his deep-rooted passion and expertise in arboriculture.

Skip Virchow
Born and raised in Central Minnesota, Skip has over 10 years of experience in the industry, which led him to start his own family-owned tree service. His extensive training sets him apart; he is a Board Certified Master Arborist, Municipal Arborist, Utility Arborist, Plant Health Care Technician, and holds both a Minnesota Tree Inspector and a Minnesota Pesticide Applicator license. He is also ISA Tree Risk Assessment qualified.
In his spare time, Skip enjoys basketball, fishing, and spending time with family. He is passionate about bow hunting and looks forward to his trips out west.

Spencer Silvers
Spencer grew up in the Cold Spring/Richmond area and currently resides in central Minnesota. When he’s not working, you can find him fishing, hunting, or enjoying the great outdoors. His passion for tree care began from spending countless hours outside and has led him to work in the industry since 2014.
With a commitment to continuous learning and staying up-to-date on the latest techniques, Spencer is dedicated to providing a professional experience for our customers. His strong communication skills, efficiency, and focus on safety ensure that your trees will be well taken care of from start to finish.

Ben Blonigen
Ben joins us with three years of experience in the tree service industry. With a love for working outdoors, Ben was drawn to this field to pursue his passion for nature and hands-on work.
Ben’s favorite part of his job is tackling challenging tree removals that require rigging and problem-solving to bring them safely to the ground. His expertise and enthusiasm for the work make him a great addition to our team.
When he’s not busy with tree work, Ben enjoys ice fishing and raising chickens, hobbies that keep him connected to the great outdoors.
